Flying Dreams
Deftly they opened the brain of a child
And it was full of flying dreams
— Stanley Kunitz
As a child I used to dream vividly of flying, if I could just flap my arms hard enough I could leave the ground.
Today we went to Lake Perris Skyventure with the Trail Explorers, a YMCA group for mothers and boys to experience skydiving without having to jump out of a plane.
Three flights each, it's a lot of fun.
Last year, just Steven and I went, this year Sean is old enough to participate too.
I tried for still photos, but it involves terrible lighting, shooting into the light from an open window, and being behind a glass. My photography skills are not adequate to know how on earth to shoot a decent photo in those conditions, so I gave up and went for video this time.

The Instructors Showing Off
The reason birds can fly and we can't
is simply that they have perfect faith,
for to have faith is to have wings.
— Sir James Matthew Barrie
Steven's Memphis trip is coming up. I wish I could say these trips have become routine, but they haven't.
I wish I could say I had perfect faith, but I don't.
Steven is doing very well, and I am ever so thankful.
