Yesterday Steven, Sean and Doug got to try fly fishing for real in the Spokane River.

Their choices of locations were limited by the instructor's desire not to have to fish Sean out of the Spokane River, so they chose a shallow location to fish in.

Nobody got any nibbles, but they got to practice their casting, and with Stann's expert instruction, the three of them were awarded certificates of completion of their fly casting course.

We investigated the possiblility of driving to Glacier National Park, but it was not possible to find lodging at this late date within 60 miles of the park. Tomorrow we head for the Big Hole River in Montana, to spend a week with my parents and my brother, and where the boys get to see if they can apply their fly fishing skills to actually catch fish.
