Answered Prayers and (hopefully) some sleep tonight...

Today was Steven's spinal MRI and lumbar puncture (LP), where they look for signs of cancer in his spinal cord.

The spinal MRI has to happen before the LP, because sticking a needle into his spinal cord affects the results of the spinal MRI.

His spinal MRI was supposed to happen at 8:00 am and the LP at 11:30, but the spinal MRI was delayed and didn't start until 2:30 pm. Despite the fact that he wasn't allowed to eat until after the LP and the fact that we were delayed by 6 hours, like always, he did great.

Then, the lumbar puncture. They put him to sleep, that's why he couldn't eat.

His oncologist's nurse asked me if it was OK to postpone our appointment with his doctor until tomorrow, since it was so late.

I said fine, but it would be a cruelty to both me and Steven if he didn't take the time to look at Steven's MRI scans and tell us if they saw anything. Somehow, not knowing is worse than knowing, even when the news is bad, at least for me.

So, his oncologist met with me while Steven was asleep and looked at Steven's scans.

The good news is that everything looks good.

And thus begins the next three months...
