Final Preparations: A Good Dinner and Hospital Admission

During our daily clinic visit, they tell us Steven looks good and everything is a go for chemo on Monday (tomorrow). We tell Steven that he can pick wherever he wants to eat for dinner, since he probably won't be feeling like eating for some time after chemo starts.

Steven picks a fancy Memphis steak house called Folk's Folly with a menu and a price tag to match Ruth's Chris. Unfortunately for our wallets, Steven isn't one of those kids who prefers a grilled cheese sandwich to shrimp and scallops if they're available.

After a dinner of steak and lobster, we go to St. Jude's and Steven is admitted to the hospital, into an isolation room. He is hooked up to IV fluids and I set up camp in the sofa bed next to him.

Tomorrow is the day we're all dreading :-(
