Final Preparations: New Year's Day

The principal of the Catholic school Sean will be attending arranges to meet us at the school to give us a quick tour, since Sean is extremely apprehensive and hasn't had a chance to see where he will be going yet. His teacher is there also and he gets a chance to meet her.

We took advantage of the pool and spa at the Marriott, this being the last day Steven can swim until his central line comes out. Once the line is in, it can never be submerged.

A woman from the church we attend in Memphis, whom we had met when we were here in October, invited us to dinner on New Year's day. She has 3 boys, we brought our 2, and she invited her neighbors from across the street, who brought 2 boys and a girl. Coincidentally the neighbors are in the process of moving to San Diego, the husband having accepted the position of assistant athletic director at San Diego State.

Steven had a great time. After returning from dinner, we bathed Steven in betadine before putting him to bed, to reduce bacteria on his skin in preparation for surgery.
