Helping To Make Wishes Come True: Our Friends at Solana Santa Fe School
Our friends at Solana Santa Fe School, the school that helped to raise funds for Steven's Make-A-Wish trip, invited us back to participate in their Ocean Week activities.
We visited their school last year for Ocean Week and we had a great time, so we were happy to be invited back.
On the first day we went on a 3-hour whale-watching boat tour out of San Diego Harbor with the Solana Santa Fe fifth graders.
I was chatting with their PTO president, who mentioned to me that the father of one of their students was a neurosurgeon, and he was on the boat.
Steven and his neurosurgeon, Dr. Levy
I asked his name, and it turned out to be Dr. Levy, Steven's neurosurgeon, who has a fifth grade daughter at Solana Santa Fe school. We are forever grateful to him to for helping to save Steven's life.
The next day we returned to their school for their Ocean Week activities.
Steven participated in dissecting a squid and a clam.
Steven was interviewed about his Make-A-Wish trip by one of their students.
We had a great time, they are a great school and they helped contribute toward a very special trip-- Thank you!
